Getting started with Summo.

01Download the app

Summo is available on the App Store and Google Play. Opening the download page on a phone leads directly to the right store. From a computer, the same page shows a code to scan instead.

02Create an account

Signing in uses Apple, Google, or email, with no password to remember. The account is controlled by private keys generated on the device at sign-up, so it is self-custodial from creation. See the account model.

03Fund the wallet

A Summo account can be funded in two ways:

• With a card or Apple Pay. A purchase can be made directly in the app, arriving in the account within a few minutes. Availability varies by region, to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and is expanding.
• From a wallet or exchange. Assets can be sent directly to your Summo address, on any of the networks Summo supports.

04Send and trade

Assets can be sent to a Summo username or to a blockchain address on any supported network, swapped for another asset, or used to open a position in perpetual futures or a prediction market. See sending assets and trading for how each works.

05Secure the account

The recovery phrase is generated on the mobile device and held in its secure hardware storage, and is never transmitted anywhere in readable form.

Guardians, covered in recovery and guardians, add two further protections: they enable the account’s optional security policy, spending limits and trusted addresses, and they make it possible to regain access if a phone or the written recovery phrase is lost. A guardian can never move funds.
